Police Advisory Board
General Information
Purpose
The City of Belle Isle has established a Police Advisory Committee to act in an advisory capacity to the Belle Isle Police Chief and the Department by being a liaison between the Department and the Community to bring feedback from the community concerning public safety issues and law enforcement needs and actions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To acquaint citizens with the operation of the Belle Isle Police Department and its varied activities.
- To generate community interest and involvement in crime prevention, including community-oriented policing and other areas of community relations.
- To advise the Chief of Police on issues in the community.
- To discuss ways to manage various operational challenges and prioritize the delivery of police services.
- To review, at the discretion of the Chief of Police, policies and procedures, citizen complaints, and police officer’s response to resistance incidents.
