Rental Annual License

Rental License Renewal Due By July 31

 

Dear Property Owner,

In accordance with Belle Isle City Code, Chapter 7, Sections 7-26 through 7-31, all rental properties located within the City of Belle Isle must be registered and licensed annually with the City Clerk’s Office. The current rental license period runs from August 1, 2025, through July 31, 2026.

To comply with this requirement, please follow the instructions below:

RENEWALS (No Changes from Previous Year)

If there are no changes to your rental property or tenant information:

  • Submit this notice with your $50.00 renewal fee by July 31, 2025.
  • Payment Options:
    • Credit Card: Submit the cc authorization form (+fee) to admin@belleislefl.gov.
    • Check: Mail to the City of Belle Isle (or drop off in the drop box), 1600 Nela Avenue, Belle Isle, FL 32809.

NEW REGISTRATION or CHANGE IN TENANTS/LEASE:

If you are registering a new rental or there have been changes to your tenants:

  • Complete and return the Rental Unit License Application available at www.belleislefl.gov/permitting or at City Hall.
  • Include a copy of the current lease agreement (minimum 7-month term; minor(s) name and currency amounts may be redacted).
  • Submit your application and $50.00 registration fee by July 31, 2025.
  • Late submissions will incur a $50.00 penalty fee, as outlined in Section 7-6(c) of the City Code.

NO LONGER A RENTAL PROPERTY?

If your property is no longer being used as a rental, please notify us by July 31, 2025:

  • Indicate the current use of the property (i.e. □Primary Residence, □Vacation Home, □For Sale/Sold/Foreclosure or Other
  • Submit this notice to our office for record updates.

Additional Information:

  • A copy of the City’s Rental Ordinance and related forms is available at www.belleislefl.gov or City Hall.
  • Failure to comply or submission of false information may result in a hearing before the City’s Code Enforcement Special Magistrate, with fines of up to $250.00 per day for non-compliance.
