City Council Appointment Opportunity – Districts 6 and 7

The Mayor and Council of the City of Belle Isle accept applications for the vacated Districts 6 and 7 Council seats. The appointed applicant shall serve the remaining term as follows, 

  • District 6 Term– April 21, 2026 - April 6, 2027.
  • District 7 Term– April 21, 2026 - April 3, 2029.
  • Application and information about the City Council Vacancy are available on the City’s homepage at www.belleislefl.gov or at City Hall.

City Council candidates shall have resided in a bona fide residence in the City and the city district to represent for at least one (1) year; they shall be registered voters in Orange County with proof from the Orange County Supervisor of Elections.

The City Council serves as the City's governing body. The Council consists of seven elected commissioners and one elected mayor. Elected officials are elected at large and serve three-year terms without compensation. The Council establishes policies and programs and appropriates funds for each city service function. In addition, the Council approves all ordinances, resolutions, and contracts; reviews proposals for community needs; initiates new program initiatives; and determines funding levels for city services and facilities. If you are interested in serving on the City Council and you live in District 6 or District 7, please submit your letter of interest, application, and resume to the attention of the City Clerk, Yolanda Quiceno, City of Belle Isle, 1600 Nela Avenue, Belle Isle, FL 32809, or via email at yquiceno@belleislefl.gov.

Form 1 is required to qualify and must be filed within 30 days of appointment, then annually by July 1.

The deadline to submit applications is Friday, March 20, 2026, at 5 pm. The City Clerk will contact applicants starting March 23, 2026, to schedule interviews with the Mayor and City Council at the April 21st Council meeting.
