A Letter from The Mayor

On November 3, 2026, Florida voters will decide on a proposed amendment to the Florida Constitution concerning homestead property taxes. If approved, the amendment may affect local government revenues, including revenues of the City of Belle Isle.  Because the outcome will not be known unless and until voters decide the measure, the City is reviewing the proposed amendment as part of its regular budget and financial planning process. This includes evaluating potential effects on public safety, infrastructure, parks, and other City services.

The City is conducting this review to remain prepared, plan responsibly, and continue providing City services in a fiscally responsible manner. As this process continues, the City will provide factual updates regarding its review, public meetings, and any related City actions.
