The City of Belle Isle, Florida, with a population of approximately 7,000, seeks to fill the Public Works Supervisor's full-time position. Located between Orlando and the Orlando International Airport, Belle Isle is a vibrant rural suburb recognized for its quality schools, outdoor recreation, and strong community. The Public Works Supervisor position is a "working Supervisor" and will perform operational duties as needed.
The Public Works Supervisor is a Department Head under the direct supervision of the City Manager. The Supervisor oversees operations and contracted services with an eye toward the efficient provision of high-quality services for Belle Isle residents. Department operations include maintenance of streets, stormwater system, parks, urban forestry, and general maintenance activities.
Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills and experience with budgeting and personnel management. Experience with procurement, contract administration, MS4 reporting, forestry, and project management is preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to supervise projects and people.
Graduation from high school or equivalent; supplemented with five (5) years of experience in facilities and grounds maintenance, one year of which must have been at a supervisory level, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
The position includes a generous benefits package. The salary for this position is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
A criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen will be required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required.
