Welcome Maureen McKuhen Code Compliance Officer

The City of Belle Isle is pleased to welcome Maureen McKuhen as our new Community Compliance Officer (CCO). Maureen officially joined the City on July 6, 2026, and will play an important role in supporting the City's commitment to maintaining a safe, attractive, and well-maintained community.  The Community Compliance Officer position reflects the City's service-oriented approach to code compliance by emphasizing education, communication, and voluntary compliance while continuing to ensure fair and consistent enforcement of City codes.

Primary Areas of Responsibility

  • Community engagement and customer service.
  • Educating residents on City codes, ordinances, and property maintenance requirements.
  • Encouraging voluntary compliance whenever possible.
  • Conducting field inspections and responding to code-related concerns.
  • Coordinating with City departments, including Police, Building, Planning, and Public Works.
  • Maintaining compliance records and assisting with notices, hearings, and case tracking.
  • Serving as a resource for residents seeking assistance with code-related questions.

While code enforcement remains an essential function of the position, the City's goal is to foster positive relationships with residents through education, collaboration, and responsive customer service. This approach supports property values, enhances neighborhood appearance, and contributes to the overall quality of life in Belle Isle.
